# Migrating members from another system

> Bring existing members into Sailia from another booking platform, CRM, or spreadsheet.

If you already have members in another system, you don't need to recreate them by hand. Sailia handles member migrations as a managed process — we import your members, their plans, and their renewal dates, then notify each member about the switch.

## What gets migrated

Where the data is available, we import:

* Member names and contact details
* Membership types and plans
* Renewal dates and payment history
* Linked benefits and discounts

Once imported, members appear in your [memberships dashboard](/pricing/memberships) ready to book, renew, and use their benefits straight away.

## What members see

After your import, Sailia automatically sends each migrated member a **welcome email** explaining:

* Their membership has been transferred to Sailia
* They'll need to add their card details to renew when their current term ends
* They'll get reminders in the run-up to their renewal date

The aim is a smooth, transparent switch — no surprise charges, no loss of benefits.

## Migration status badges

A migrated member can be in one of these states on their subscription page:

| Badge                                | Meaning                                                               |
| ------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Migrating (Pending payment info)** | Member hasn't added a payment method yet. We'll keep reminding them.  |
| **Migrating (Pending renewal)**      | Member is set up and will start billing on their normal renewal date. |
| **Will not renew**                   | Migration was cancelled; the current term ends without renewal.       |

Once a member adds a payment method and their first renewal goes through, they become a standard active member.

## Supported source platforms

We can migrate members from almost any system. We've already built imports for the most common platforms, including:

* Bookwhen
* BookNow
* Eola
* SportBooker
* Roller
* Cinolla
* Checkfront

If your current platform isn't listed, we can usually import from a CSV export or via an API connection — get in touch and we'll work out the right approach.

## Getting started

1. Email [support@sailia.com](mailto:support@sailia.com) letting us know you'd like to migrate.
2. Share an export file or set up read-only access to your current system.
3. We confirm the data, run the import, and trigger the welcome emails.

Most migrations take a few days end-to-end.
