Once you’ve set up your qualifications, you can record them against individual customers as they complete courses. Each record can include a certificate number for your awarding body — useful for RYA, BCU, or any other external qualification scheme.

Setting up qualifications

Head to Settings → Qualifications to create the awards you issue, for example:
  • RYA Stage 1 Sailing
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2
  • RYA Dinghy Instructor
The same qualification list is used to record both customer achievements and staff competencies — so when you schedule a session that requires a Powerboat Level 2 instructor, Sailia knows which staff are qualified.

Record a certificate number for a customer

1

Open the register

On the What’s On calendar, open the session and switch to the Register view.
2

Find the participant

Locate the customer’s row.
3

Add the qualification

Select the qualification they’ve earned and enter the certificate number. Save.
You can also add a qualification directly from a customer’s profile if they’ve completed something outside a session.

View a customer’s qualification history

Open the customer’s profile and select the family member you want to view. Their full qualification history is listed there, with the certificate number, date awarded, and the session it came from.

Why record certificate numbers

  • Prove a customer has the prerequisite for a more advanced course before they book.
  • Quickly look up a certificate number if a customer asks for confirmation.
  • Audit certifications issued by your centre for awarding-body reports.
